Nigerian Man

- met this man today from Nigeria. He became deaf @ 13 from meningitis. Has always lived in the hearing world until GU. He is now finishing up his PhD in Educational Leadership

Fridays- last day of class!

Ok now it's really Friday! I slept and relaxed wanted to make sure my stomach was ok. Met a girl that recently arrived from California. She is in the dorm next to mine. She is taking ASL 5 and 6 here. We had lunch together. Class is finished. Last day. I really enjoyed it. I learned a lot! Now I'm going to meet my friend from high school and watch a jazz concert. I'm really excited to go home and see my husband and kids! I will arrive late, around 10:45. See you soon!

Ok so now it's Thursday night. And I just hung around didn't do much. The weather was cool. Not as hot and humid as before. It's like in the 80's. So I decide when my class got finished around 4:00 to go to H St. I was a little bit scared to go by myself because I felt it was dangerous. It wasn't really but feels dangerous for a small town girl. Anyway, I get there and look for a restaurant. I use the Yelp app and find a place that has great muscles. So I decide I will go there. So I ate some called Bleu Cheese Muscles. They were delicious!!!! Best I have ever tasted! When I got done went back to GU. I went to a Deaf comedian. He was alright. Not great but good. Then after that my stomach started feels weird. I thought I might throw up. And yep I threw up all night. I was sick because of the muscles. My body didn't ache. I didn't have a temperature. It wasn't the flu. SoI am sure it was the food. So I called the and told them. So that is Thursday night!

He is Deaf and lives in Seattle. He contacted me said he has a friend that lives in the Gallaudet area. So he gave me his contact info and we text back and forth. But he happened to be out of town. So he contacted another guy named Joey, he is Deaf too. So we text and decided to meet for dinner and them he was meeting a group of people for an out door movie. So I met some more people, deaf and hearing. It was kinda funny though because that is how small the Deaf culture is, it was cool. So finally I had a good night it was fun. That happened Wed.

Today was the first day of class. My teachers name is Paul Dudis. I
He's cool. I learned a lot. But my class only has 4 people. Kinda sad. I was hoping more students would be around but there is not. So... Guess that is what happens during summer break. Today is finished. Wow! Tired again. Today I toured all the different areas of DC. Many places. It was really cool. Will explain more later. Now I'm back at GU. quiet her because there are so few people around. Hope more people will show up tomorrow. Now there is just a few. It's 9 now and I don't know it's empty. Again gonna go to sleep early. When I wake up hopefully more people have shown up. Class starts at one tomorrow. I'm excited about that. I will add pics shortly!

Wow! I'm tired! I traveled all day from Wa state to Washington DC. I finally made it to Gallaudet. This is my dorm room. No roommate yet. Maybe tomorrow. Class starts Monday. Now I'm gonna read and go to sleep! Bye!
